Custom residential new construction project is on the boards in the Los Angeles, California. The home will embrace the California Modern style with sleek lines balanced out with an easiness in the setting of Southern California. On the exterior, we are using a mix of materials to juxtapose the warmth of wood-clad ceilings on the porches with the cool undertones of white stucco and black metal railings. The second story covered porch on the front gives dimension to the structure, while also being a terrific vantage point for the view. Clerestory windows will bring light into the this front, second story room, while providing privacy from the street for a musical composer’s studio space. A private entry gate on the side of the home opens to a courtyard and the ‘front door.’ Step inside and the craftsmanship will be on full display in the continual blending of natural materials and man-made. In the back of the home, another second story covered porch mirrors the main floor with walls of windows that let in an abundance of natural light and breeze, while seamlessly connecting inside and out.
