The design is in the details… from paint, to fixtures, to the kitchen backsplash… especially in a smaller space.
Modern touches blend with ‘Old Hollywood Era Glam” in this condo in Los Angeles, California just outside of Beverly Hills. Being the first home for a young couple with their first baby on the way, it was important to create a soothing palette of colors, which include whites, creams, and oatmeal, to make the condo feel sophisticated but not sterile for this active family. Custom cabinetry in the living room, bedrooms, bathrooms, and master walk-in-closest expand the storage options. Thoughtful features were crafted to the client’s specific needs. For example, a jewelry cabinet was designed behind mirrors in the master closet. The washer and dryer were elevated in the laundry room to provide storage cubbies for the hampers below.
Specialty tile used on the kitchen backsplash and quartz countertops are highlights of the completely renovated kitchen which was opened up to the living space. The curved bench seating in the dining area was custom designed and fabricated to accommodate an existing circular dining table’s unique size. Behind this, we installed the largest single-piece mirror that could fit within the building without breaking; it was carefully installed. A master bath renovation created an oasis with custom make-up table, double sinks, soaking tub, and separate shower. Clean lines are a focus in the master bathroom. The tub decking is extended into the shower and not only creates a functional bench, but serve as a design feature visually connecting one element to the other. A nook was added below the shower bench for a clever storage solution for towels. The renovated powder room features a reclaimed wood feature wall and a special place for the owners collection of Japanese art including a ceremonial sword.
“The strategic placement of mirrors in this condo help to bounce the light around the room and make the space feel larger and more open.” Kurt Krueger
From the Client
“I was not only satisfied but felt completely taken care of in the design and construction of my condo. I had a vision and it was carried out beyond my expectations. I would definitely recommend Kurt as well as be privileged if I’m ever in a position to use him again. He procured numerous items and designs I would have never found or considered and they turned out perfect. Even down to helping me pick paint colors! They got the most compliments afterward. Most importantly was the time, care and consideration I felt through the whole process. Renovating and construction can be stressful, but Kurt helped keep me sane and stress free while still delivering stellar results.”
